Since Kith is the squeal to Kin and I read them back to back they get one entry. The books are a black and white graphic novel that covers the story of a girl that finds out she is half fae and dealing with the fallout of her father breaking his oath to her fae mother that sends her back to the fairy realm. She is also dealing with an invasion of her town by her grandfather. The story takes a nice twist and reminds you that the Fae are not human.

The events in this book are the consequences of almost everything that has happened in the first book. Harper finds out not everything she always believed about her own past is correct and events that have been happening all her life to force her onto the path of a Greywalker.

The fourth book of the series brings the hellbreed circus into town. The Flesh Circus has arrived and is collecting souls and suicides and this is allowed under an old pact with hunters worldwide. Jill doesn't like it but she has to allow it. There is also some personal issues going on with her that come up and are resolved during the book. I'm enjoying this series more than the Dante Valentine series and I am now waiting impatiently for the next one.

the latest Merry Gentry book had a plot that really didn't involve either the light or dark court. Now we find out there is a "fairy godmother" for La and she is trying consolidate power. This is going on while someone is killing the demifey and staging the deaths to look like illustrations out of children books. there is some uproar in Merry's court over one of the guards wanting more respect since he has gotten some of his power back but it felt more out of character for how this one person has been described in the series. I wouldn't be surprised if they bite it soon. Yes the book still has sex even though Merry is pregnant so there is no desperation to get with child now. Definitely a better book in the series but not an awesome read.

This story started out as a serialized story on the web and a solicitation for donations. I donated and read the story on line since it told the story of a character that shows up in the last bit of I Dare. the authors did flesh out the novel more and from the web draft and added more back story on the parents. I enjoyed it and I am waiting to see how they did with the sequel that was also first posted up on the web.

I reread the first two books in the series before I tackled this one more to get a refresher on the setting and characters. This one is written as a series of letters but instead of just Cece and Kate writing back and forth their husbands are writing letters as well. Both couples have children and are working on their magic skills. Both are working on separate mysteries that of course at the end wrap up into one story. It was a light romp and certainly written on a YA level.

A lot of people I know rave about these comics. I have to say I will have to give it a miss. the art leaves me a bit too cold. I would try the next book to see if the story speed picks up but my library doesn't have the second volume.

I liked this Valdemar based anthology, the stories were good and entertaining and really only the last one was completely jarring. I know it was written tongue in cheek but I really didn't enjoy it all all.
