I read the next 3 books in the series and then the Christmas short story in Silent Night. So that is Ceremony In Death, Vengeance In Death & Holiday In Death that I finished. The series is still fun beach reading style. I love and hate the fact that they really need to be read in order. I am trying to just get them from the library but that is a hopeless plan. The books are like potato chips you just keeping eating one after the another.

I'm not going to bother to count the short story in my count for the year. I'm still so far behind logging in books for the 52 books a year. I read these three on a trip to New Orleans. No driving on my part so I got to catch up on some reading.

I decided to read this after seeing the movie. I saw the movie at one con and then read the book at the next con I was at. I'm glad I saw the movie first then read the book. To do it the other way around would have drove me nuts.

I enjoyed the book but I was left with the feeling of wanting more. I've only read on other book by her but I most definitely want to read more. Not sure what to hit next of hers but I think I will do one that is in a series.

I've had this for a while and I decided to read it since everyone seems to give big thumbs up to Alan Moore. I enjoyed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen so I decided to read this instead of waiting for the movie first. The setting is damn dark. I'm not a fan of dystopic future, I like in the end to be left with a happy version of the future. To see the mistakes of history repeated again in the pages of the comic wasn't pleasant. But I must say that I was completely sucked into the story and I had to find out if V is really able to topple the government of this future UK.

Now I worry that the movie adaption with be worthy of this book.

This is the 4th book in the Company series. I started reading Kage last year when I finally got to meet her at a con. A friend had recommended her to me but we seem to have different taste so I had held off reading her stuff. MY MISTAKE!

This book deals with Joseph and Lewis deciding to find out what happened to Mendoza. That they are immortal cyborgs they can take their time to slowly tease out the facts about her disappearance without alerting the Company. Of course the all knowing Company seems to be keeping tabs on them and takes cares of them or so we think. Along with the mystery of Mendoza, Joseph finds out what happened to all the Enforcers.

Finishing this book caused me to immediately pick up the next book to read. See next post for another glowing report. LOL!

Finally we get to find out what the deal is with Mendoza's reincarnating lover. Once she has been tossed into prehistory, the third version of her lover comes to the future to escape the Company. She helps him go back to his time where he is an Earl and a pirate. The future seems to be a quite boring place that has been made "safe". No fires in fireplaces, no dairy foods and other nonsense things to keep you healthy. But still no one knows what happens after 2355. He comes back for her The next book should be quite interesting since now we are within a few years of the magical moment when the future is unknown. I broke down and bought a review copy of it to read, Look for notes on it before too long. ;-)
