#28 Small Favor by Jim Butcher
Jun. 1st, 2008 01:02 pmI have to say up front that I love these books and the series keeps building on each book and just really works for me. Harry is a flawed wizard but he seems to be coming into learning more about himself by having to teach Molly. You find out more about the knights and the coins in this book. Some fae politics show up but nothing like Summer Knight. There is more info about the wizard world but nothing overwhelming the book. Butcher writes a compelling universe and I am very interested on reading more.

I had someone in the shop last week who watched an episode of the show and didnt want to read the books because of it. I talked her out of such a hasty decision and yet didnt have any in stock to sell her hehe

Date: 2008-06-02 01:28 am (UTC)I enjoyed the latest installment; while not the best of the series, it's up there. I find the backstory and the world-building really interesting, though I'll occasionally skim the fight scenes. (Just like I fast-forward through the Final Showdown scenes at the end of every comic book movie. *Yawn*.) Love all the pop-culture references; Dresden (or Butcher) is clearly of my generation.
Dresden's a terrific character and really growing & changing with the series. Great, check-your-brain-at-the-door, fun reads.
Hey, BTW, G. - my buddies had a GREAT time hanging with you at Oasis! A highlight of their weekend, apparently.
