Small Favor was the very first book I bought for my Kindle (my anniversary present) since it was released nearly the same day I got the e-reader. Because the latest Dresden Files or Naomi Novik's Dragon series or C.J. Cherryh's Foreigner books are my favorite "drop everything" pleasure reads, the instant-gratification factor of the Kindle download was perfect. I blazed through it in a day or so.
I enjoyed the latest installment; while not the best of the series, it's up there. I find the backstory and the world-building really interesting, though I'll occasionally skim the fight scenes. (Just like I fast-forward through the Final Showdown scenes at the end of every comic book movie. *Yawn*.) Love all the pop-culture references; Dresden (or Butcher) is clearly of my generation.
Dresden's a terrific character and really growing & changing with the series. Great, check-your-brain-at-the-door, fun reads.
Hey, BTW, G. - my buddies had a GREAT time hanging with you at Oasis! A highlight of their weekend, apparently.
