I got this as part of Harper Collins First Look program. http://www.harpercollins.com/Members/FirstLook/index.aspx  Harper also does several newsletter that I read so I can keep with the new releases if any of you are interested.

This is what I posted for them.  With the clever twist of who the narrator is along with his occasional breaking of the fourth wall and speaking directly to the reader this was a fun romp and made for a nice change of pace. The ending left room for a sequel but it also isn’t necessary.  I enjoyed it and will be recommending it to my friends.

That being that being said I don't know if everyone on my friends list will care for it. There is a touch of a steampunk feel to it but not overwhelming. I did enjoy it but not enought to run out and force my friends to read it.

Ok, so you aren't going to beat me over the head with this book? Ok :D

Trying to think of the last book I read that I told people "THEY MUST READ". I have a feeling it has been a real long time.

You've never been a big "YOU MUST READ THIS OR DIE" sort of person. The last book I can think of that you recommended to me without my asking was that whatever one for Bad Girls -- a dating guide or something?

Oh, I picked up Diana Francis's books. Borders Coupon, ya know. Was only going to get The Cipher, but Jay saw the other series and (I think because he felt bad my eyes were still dilated -- this was Tues -- or the whole Big Eyes Mind Control thing Puss n Boots uses really works) and said I might as well get it, too. Oh, and the latest 500 Kingdoms book from Lackey. Does she do any conventions anymore? I want to get that series signed by her very much.

It took almost 2 days for my vision to get back to normal after those tests for the Lasik. MAN! I am now SUPER convinced not to do it...if the TESTS screw me up like that, what would the actual surgery do? Must call and cancel on that. Got a regular eye doctor appointment. Soon you will see me with READING GLASSES, and I have to get my regular ones repaired/replaced -- nose piece broke off. Feh.

I think she does some local to her cons. Not that it helps you any./

I just looked up our new vision plan and my eyeball doc isn't on it. In fact it was almost all optimists. I hate the eye dilation deal. It sucks

Optometrists? (optimists made me laugh, which just adds to the love, ya know). Yeah, we have no insurance for eye stuff anyway, unless one gets put out or something.

I'm going to ask if they can skip the dilation this time, as I just had it done and it was so crazy. I'll see what he says. Wonder if I can get my test results from the Lasik place?

Man I can typo anything! I prefer going to Ophthalmologists but mine wasn't on the plan so I will go Out of Network for the visit and get my glasses anywhere.

You are an amazing woman in many ways. Your typos are just one of them.
