Theodora Ettings had half of her soul taken by the faries when she was a child and it has been a trial to her cousin and aunt ever since. She is now without fear or most emotions and has to work hard at not creating a scandal and ruining Vanessa’s chances of a good marriage. They head to London for the season and to get Vanessa married off. Vanessa decides that she needs to find the Royal Sorcerer and see what he can do to help Theodora.  They meet and they clash but as most stories set up like this there is a happy ever after in the end.
