The Count of Monte Cristo in space is the elevator pitch for this book. The story works in the framework and adds in colonies fighting for independence. Virika is an officer on a ship who is framed for the death of her captain by someone that she had refused his advances. The story was good and used the framework of Monte Cristo but didn’t slavishly stick to it, just don’t look for a happy ending.
