#63 Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha

Sachi is being married off to the Dragon to fulfill a bargain that has gone back centuries. But she isn’t what sees seems. Instead, she is to kill the Dragon within a few weeks or die from a curse that was put on her in order to have her complete the mission.  The Dragon is bound to the kingdom that sends an heir every 100 years to bind him with the kingdom but the current King is tired of not being in control.  Sachi is also in love with her handmaid that has been trained as an assassin to help with her mission. Of course plans don’t go the way they were supposed to. Things get resolved by the end but there is a lot more to this universe to find out about.

#64 Divinity 36 by Gail Carriger

Phex is a refugee working in a coffee shop and singing along to the entertainment vids when he is overheard and recruited to audition for new bands forming. Bands are the main export for one world, and they are set up to make the best of the talented beings that want to be worshiped as idols. Phex doesn’t trust anyone, but he needs to trust his bandmates to reach the top. The start of an interesting SF series that draws heavily on K-pop and modern stars.

Two tone cover with 6 small figures on a round stage.

#66 Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma

Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma, Soneela Nankani (Narrator), Sunil Malhotra (Narrator), Vikas Adam (Narrator)

One of the few times I read book 2 before book 1 so I knew that they would get together in the end.  Kareena needs to get married to save her childhood home from being sold by her dad who wants to retire and move away.  Prem is a cardiologist that wants to build a community health clinic but is still raising money for it.  When the two of them clash on his local access show both of them need to scramble for damage control and the sparks fly.

#67 Archangel's Lineage by Nalini Singh

This book has a definite time jump in it and Elena has to deal with the fact that everyone she loves from her moral life will grow old and die.   The big thing that the angels are dealing with is the fall of the magic that protects the Angel refuge from mortals. The Cadre receives some help in the form of a very old Angel woken from sleep that even his name has been forgotten.  The Cadre must set aside any grievance they have and work together to fix this issue.  Another good story set in this universe, and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this new angel.
