#26 Payback in Death by J.D. Robb

 

Eve gets requested to investigate a death of a former Internal affairs officer by the man that once had a thing for her.   They both realize it is not the suicide that it is set up to resemble and now Eve and Peabody need to comb through the past to see who is still grinding axe for getting punished for being a bad cop. I have to say that I really loved the beginning of the book since it deals with Eve giving an anniversary gift to Rourke that means so much to him.  As usual if you are a fan of the books this one does not disappoint.
