#18 Starter Villain by John Scalzi
Jul. 18th, 2023 01:49 pmWhen you find out you’re the heir to a super villain who happened to be your estranged uncle your outlook on a lot of things changes. The downside Is that you find out your mom was killed because of what her brother did for a living by someone who ignored the code of not going after families. Some of the crazy things when you think of super villains are true, volcano lairs and lasers. But the other things are rather eye opening, like billing the government for not using your lasers. But the eavesdropping system is the best tech they have. The book has a good ending and doesn’t leave the reader on a cliffhanger. Scalzi’s near future books are always laced with great absurdist humor that reminds the reader of Carl Hiaasen books.
