#97 Dark Divide & Badlands Witch by Carrie Vaughn, Neil Hellegers (Narrator)

The audio version has two novellas recorded together so I’ll do this as one review.  These are a spin off of the Kitty books, Cormac is out of jail but now hosts the spirt of a female wizard from Victorian England. Amelia was hanged for a murder she didn’t commit but her ghost haunted the prison where she died.  The first novella deals with them investing a death of a man that starved to death almost overnight in a cabin near Donner Pass. The second novella deals with revenge on Cormac on vampire hunting he did before he met Amelia.  Both stories are good and it makes for a nice series set in a already designed story universe.

The latest in the Dark Olympus focuses on Apollo and his assistant Cassandra. Cassandra works for the spymaster Apollo and goes undercover with him to find out more about Minos and his plans for Olympus.  Cassandra is from a disgraced family that tried to assassinate one of the Thirteen to take their title. It failed and now she and her sister are all that is left of their family.  Apollo takes Cassandra as his “fake date” to a house party that Mino is having and is there with several of the Thirteen and their significant others. And slowly all the plus ones start to disappear.  Can the two of them solve what is happening before something happens to Cassandra. And will all the alone time with Apollo finally bring out in the open the feelings that they have held in secret for one another.
