2021 Reading Year in Review
Jan. 20th, 2022 03:34 pmI don’t think I have done one of these for a few years. But looking at the last one I did for 2018 I am still reading about half review copies. I swear it is more than that, but my quick count could be off. I did notice that almost everything I listened to on audio for 2021 was from the library and that makes sense since I didn’t buy any audios last year. I didn’t bother to review any of the cookbooks I checked out of the library since I seem to just dip in them and flip through looking for some inspiration instead of reading cover to cover. I did review one cookbook but it was more of a technique to riffing off of recipes instead of only recipes. I read enough novellas this year that I feel good about filling out my ballots for the year. Granted I read almost no short fiction unless it is in a themed anthology and those never seem to hit ballot. I did hit my reading goal of 80 books and I can point to Jonathan Maberry’s Joe Ledger series for sending me way over my goal this year thanks to binging on the audios.
Overall I think I did pretty well and now I am only six books behind for reviewing for 2022 books. Now to wonder about what older series I will get into this year and completely binge on.
