#77 Crimson Death by Laurell K. Hamilton
Oct. 27th, 2016 11:21 amThis book is supposed to deal with Anita going to Ireland and helping with a vampire problem. Ireland doesn’t have vampires or at least that is what the public thinks so when people are being attacked it turns out that they do have one and they don’t know what to do since they have no laws in place. The first half has Anita doing her power up thing through sex and having something happen that has never happened before and her also being blind to facts she has been told in previous books but doesn’t want to face.
The second half has Anita dealing with the police and the usual crowd of we don’t like you and your powers or your personal life. It seems that necromancers are not welcome in Ireland and the “land” doesn’t allow for the power to work. The last bit is the usual cramming of the solution to the plot problem in the last 30 pages. The biggest problem I have is the first half pounds it into the reader that she needs guards everywhere but for the plot to be wrapped up she seems not to need that many guards with her at that moment.
