#77 Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

I've read her Archangels series but not this one. I picked it up because a friend said I would like them. I liked the world building and the characters were interesting. There are now three types of humans, normal humans, changelings [shifters of several animal types] and Psy [ mental powers] . I'll be reading more of these because I want to see what happens with this culture of no emotions when people are realizing what it is doing to them.

#78 The Clockwork Dagger by Beth Cato

A sheltered healer is on her own traveling to a village that needs her talents. Turns out that Octavia is more than a healer, it seems that she is the most gifted one there has been in a very long time and both sides of the war are after her even if she doesn't know her own value. This does have some steampunk elements but they fit in without overwhelming the story or drive the plot. The reader is left wanting the next book to see what will happen with the threads that are unfinished. The reader doesn't know which side of the war is better than the other and our heroine is left hating both since they want to either control her or destroy her Now to wait for the the sequel.
