#38 The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge

 I read this over twenty years ago and really could only remember just a few details about the book so a reread was in order for my bookclub. It was interesting to remember bits and pieces of the story as I was reading it. A world kept under control while an amazing life extending drug is harvested from the world. Technology is kept only to a small part of the world so the larger world can keep them under control and keep the drug flowing. Now I just need to reread the other books in the series.
