This is a fantasy based in an Edwardian time frame. The Fey are known in this world and people do interact and conduct business with them. But in this book the Fey are shown as cruel. A nice refreshing nod back to how fairy tales portrayed . This is the first book in a duology. There is come completion to the book but certainly not everything is wrapped up.

#55 Slanted Jack by Mark Van Name
Sep. 25th, 2008 07:41 pmI went to a reading for this book the other night and the author stated that it wasn't necessary to read the first book in the series. So i decided to take him up on the offer. I have read a few books out of series and it doesn't always work. In this case it does work. John is a loner with only his killer AI spaceship as his only real friend. He hooks up with a con man that he knows from the past to help a child that is descended from people from his home planet. I liked the book and the series should be interesting to read. I have the first book and I should be getting to it soonish.
