Wizard of London by Mercedes Lackey
Dec. 2nd, 2005 10:57 amI got this out from the library. Was going to buy it the other day but the store was out of them. Good thing since I would have been disappointed to have spent $25 or so on the book. She has the time frame down but the first 4 chapters were rehashing 2 short stories that had been previously published. The ending felt rushed and what had happened with the "Wizard of London" doesn't seem to be reflected on what we know of him from other books which happen later on in his life. Granted writing prequels are hard to do when you haven't planned on it in the first place. And I don't think this was a fairy tale retelling like the other books in the series have been. I'll pick up a copy of the book for myself later on at some point but I'm not in a rush.
