Ivan finally gets his own book but for the most part the book is a fun romp of dealing with the consequences of quick decisions that were not thought out carefully. Of course everything ends up ok for almost everybody. What I did like was more of Gregor balancing the role of Emperor and friend. An enjoyable read and I'll probably read it again sometime soon.

Ivan has been getting beaten on for so long that I can't see the author giving him a break. After Cryoburn I decided to give LMB a bit of a rest, SMOF be damned. I'll give it a store read when I am next in a big box store.

OTOH, have you read REAMDE yet?

No I haven't mostly because Stephenson books can kill small animals if dropped on them.

The Bujold book is like a cross between Cetaganda and A Civil Campaign in tone.
