missingvolumeI admit I judged this book by the zombies and I held off reading it even though I like the writers other books very much. [Mira Grant is a pen name for Seanan McGuire] I was wrong to hold off reading them. The only plus to hold off is I don't have to wait on book two. Yes there are zombies but this really is more of a thriller type of book and I like the world building of trying to live in a world that has zombies and still trying to live a normal life and how that wrecks havoc on every day life. I've recommended the book to several other people and I can now see why it was on the ballot for the Hugo. Now to try and now read the second book ASAP and then sit and whine for book 3.
