This book picks up right after Dexter's honeymoon in Paris.  He plays cat and mouse with a performance artist killer. The tone of the books goes back to the first two novels and doesn't say too much about what happened in book 3 which I think a lot of readers will like. Dexter's step kids continue to push him into giving them lessons so they can be just like him. Of course the way the series is going I have a feeling that Dexter will be outed in a few more books.
