This is the 17th book. About the only good thing I can say is she tried to go more for story and less sex. There is still sex but not half the book. Anita gets an "invite" to Las Vegas to go after a vampire that she tangled with a few books before. The book suffers as usual from the short choppy ending. Her usual crew of supporting players/bedmates stay home in St Louis and 2 vamps she has never done the deed with come to her aid to feed the ardeur.  Of course she ends up being taken over at some point and does stuff she doesn't want to do. Thankfully again that is off scene. TI'm glad I got this out of the library becasue I certainly would have been disappointed to once again think she was going back to her old story ways and once again have the rug pulled out from under me.

I am so in agreement with you. In fact, I honor your dedication in making it to the 17th book. I made it through about the first nine, and eventually felt like I could skip half the book and still follow the story.

I really enjoyed the first few, which made the last ones I read all the more disappointing.

It is a train wreck, I can't not look but trust me I am reading the entire thing in a few hours. The ideas and world sounds interesting and then it all gets bogged down in sex.
