The action returns back to England since the last several books have happened while Russell and Holmes have been traveling to the USA to deal with Russell's estate.  This book gives some back story to Holmes and you find out a very intersting fact that could have been spun off into its own book but instead is told in flashbacks in order to set the stage for this book. It almost makes me wonder if I missed a short story out there or if the back story is the fragments of a short story idea that didn't gel.  It was nice to get a new book in the series but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the earlier books. Not sure if that has to do with the fact that I have to wait years for a new book since I have caught up wiht the series a few years ago.

Bah you can still read it at the library and get it later on when it comes out in paper.

waiting to see if it shows up. Everything around here is budget crunched tight and not buying. The Clemson library will probably get it before the local -- I'm waiting for it to show, but it's not there yet. Jay can check it out for longer than I can from the public library.

I would just log in and put a hold on it. Otherwise you have to wait for every hold to be done before it hits the shelf and then you have to be there on the right day to get it before someone else. I always have a ton of hold requests at the library. Still waiting on the new LKH that way and I think I am number 500 or something like that for the new Evanovich.
