Quick Question

Over the weekend I was out of town and updating my Facebook status several times a day since I had time while I was standing in line and someone asked me if I was twittering. Do any of you have it or should I just stick to just updating my FB status and stay the heck away from Twitter?

I actually have both. There's also a cross-posting function between the two that I'm given to understand is fairly user friendly.

I do see people using it but does it become a timesink? I don't think I would really twitter since most of my days are dull and only real excitement would be at cons.

Twitter is the latest big trendy thing - I hadn't used my account for a good five or six months before I found out a couple of people I fangirl have accounts.

The benefit Twitter has over Facebook in my opinion is that it's more straightforward. If you want to communicate something fast and *not* have it get lost on lists of fifty bazillion quizzes, Twitter is the way to go. Facebook's latest layout change makes it harder in my opinion to make sure you get updates from the people you really want to hear from.

I find using the facebook Blackberry app will ONLY give me status updates. And I do miss being able to see on my friends list all the status updates.

I cross post too. I find it useful, because it lets me give a quick shout-out without drowning readers in text. Things like "Don't forget tomorrow's booksigning at the Parkside" with a link. You don't have to be on there constantly. Even the celebrity tweeters don't. My personal faves are Nathan Fillon & Rob Thomas. They both seem like people you'd like to know.
Cheers and smiles,
Jean Marie

I might get one but I doubt I will be using it that much.
