#40 Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay

This is the second book following Dexter, an ethical serial killer. Dexter has several things that happen during the book that move his life forward in ways he had never thought possible. Also by the end of the book Dexter overcomes an obstacle to his dark justice.  A nice dark enjoyable read.

You just reminded me...

"Dexter in the Dark" needs to be next-up on my reading list. It's been out a while, and I haven't read it yet.

I found out about the books and TV show, when a co-worker said,

"Have you heard that they named a TV show after you?"

Someday, I will start a People with Weird Names Liberation Front. We will deal with all these fiction authors who insist on giving whackjobs unusual names, instead of Bill or Joe or Fred.

LOL! From what I have been told the show and the books diverge more and more as time goes on.

Well, it starts out with LaGuerta surviving the end of TV Season 1. I haven't seen the series since I don't watch TV. I don't recall seeing on the Dex fan sites that Doakes gets what he got in Book 2.

Speaking of which, my absolute favorite line, from Dearly Devoted Dexter: "I think you've got him stumped."

I loved talking to people who have read teh book and seen the second season.

They have almost nothing in common, was great. Once I got over that I loved the fact that I get more Dexter for my buck, Im not watching stories that I have read Im watching stories that are new to the character while waiting for the next book to come in

;)
