Book 3 is 2 years after the book 2. This one introduces another race of dragons to the reader. It seems that this one has an imbalance of female to male ratio. They also seem to be the basis for the legends of mermaids and sirens. Peter is poisoned and blackmailed with a temporary antidote to get him to come back and breed with the females. He is under mental control by the females everytime they sing. He decides to break free and go back to his wife with what he hopes are clues to finding the antidote. Also he finds out more about his father, who had a seadragon wife. Our hero wins but you are left hanging about what will happen with a child he conceived during his captivity.
