This is the second book in the new trilogy. The book begins with Imriel becoming involved with his cousin, the heir to the throne. Even though he doesn't want to leave he goes into a political marriage that will benefit the kingdom and hopefully allow him to return back to Terre d'Ange and his true love's side.  Of course things do not go as planned and as usual for these books our hero must go on a quest before what he desires can happen. Even though the reviews on Amazon give away why the quest happens I will refrain from it here. This book wasn't as dark as some of the others but I did get teary eyed in some parts.
