#30 Nightlife by Rob Thurman

Another urban fantasy that I have picked up. I must not be the only person in the world to read them. ;-) This one has two half brothers trying to stay one step ahead of the younger brother's father. Turns out that he is half elf. Of course in this universe, elves are not the usual stereotype that we have become accustomed to. And I like that. I also like what he did to trolls and vampires as well. Of course things catch up to Cal, the half elf and his fully human brother Niko has to rescue him with the help of a newly found allay.  And I will say nothing on their new friend since reading about him was fun.

I picked this one (and the sequel) up recently, but haven't read them yet.

It was a nice change of pace of all the female hero urban fantasies I've read lately.

I definitely enjoyed it also. I have the 2nd book in my massive to be read pile. I'm still struggling through Stardust but at least it's picked up a bit.

I still need to pick up book 2 but I'm sure it will be soon. You all packed for Mobi?

Procrastinating....

I'm about half packed (back seat is done). Think I'll stop at the Druid Hills store on the way down tomorrow. You might get lots o' phone calls tomorrow to keep me awake, but I got a car charger so we won't kill both phones this time ;)

You going to hit Lilburn on your back since they had the big room of music?

Not sure. I've had a few from there skip, plus I'm not sure that I could find that one again on my own.

Were they the the ones that were 3 for 10 that said scratched on them?

It was a straight shot off the interstate. it was just remembering which exit to take.

One of the best novels i've read in the past year or two.

Urban Shaman was another.

I've got the first two C E Murphy books hanging around to be read. I guess this just pushed them a bit closer to the top. Thanks

I didn't like T'bird falls as much as the first but it was still better than the "kinky Werewolf/Vampire screws everything in sight until she figures out how to beat the bad guy" dreck by a good margin.

So would reading the phone book. Just sayin'

[identity profile] missingvolume.livejournal.com 2007-05-17 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yea but I don't think the phone book has a plot. Boinking everything in sight is a plot, granted it can be as thin as plot in a porno but it is a plot. ;-p
