This was a nice fun quick read and I liked it a lot more than the last few Queen Betsy books. Fred is a half mermaid marine biologist. The plot has her meeting a new research fellow and a merman the same day she finds out from her mother that the man she thought was her dad, isn't. She takes the news that her father is a merman that her mom hooked up in her youthful hippie days with aplomb since she has green hair [although everyone says it is blue] and she has been turning into a mermaid every time she goes in the water. The book was cute and of course Fred makes no decisions by the end of the book which guy to hook up with.  I'll be looking for the next one in the series when it comes out.
