This is a YA novel set in the Alien universe. Oliva and Viola live with their xenobiologist parents outside the main colony. Viola is an invalid and has never met the rest of the kids that Oliva has met at school. A badly timed house party kicks off the main part of the story as a ship bought for scrap for the colony to use crashes on the planet. Everyone’s secrets come to light during the fight to save themselves from the alien invaders and yet there are constant reminders that the heroine of this story is really only an average teenager who started the day trying to impress her crush.
