#51 The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson

ER doc Mackenzie is tired of grief from her grandmother about finding a boyfriend and she asks on a lark to fellow werewolf and Dr to pose as her boyfriend. Noah is being outed as an alpha werewolf, rare version that is supposedly hot tempered and dangerous, he needs help with this fast to keep his job as a cardiologist at the same hospital. He asks her in return to pose as his mate. They agree and of course sparks fly when they don’t mean it to happen. Noah is looking to leave for a better job in another state and there is someone still trying to sabotage what he has going on in his current position. This is a cute enemies to lovers story even if they were never really enemies. The werewolf portion of the story makes for interesting details since they seem to have integrated within society.

#52 Uncanny Vows by Laura Anne Gilman

 

The Harker siblings are currently persona non grata after their last case and they wait to once again fight against the uncanny as the Huntsmen they are. When they are asked to go and see why a relative of one of the Huntsmen’s patrons has been found asleep in his office and unable to be awakened, things are not quite what they seem.  Another Huntsman is also in town and they are not sure if this is backup or a spy to report on their results. The duo does solve just what happens but the ending looks like things may only just be revving up.
