2022 book reading year in review
Jan. 4th, 2023 10:25 amLooking back at the years I tried to see what I read I stay consistent in that close to 2/3 of my reading is review copies. I read much more from Edelweiss than NetGalley. I still use the hell out of my local library system for audio books. Almost all the audio was from the library. I only had one book in audio that was an ARC. I only had a handful of books this year that I reviewed that were purchased by me or part of a Patreon that I use. My library usage isn’t all audio since I continue to check out cookbooks but review them much since it is a bit harder to review it if I don’t start cooking out of it while I have my hands on it. I am reading more romance or romantic fantasy books, and this seems to be cutting more into the mysteries that I read. I hadn’t read as many mysteries as I used to. That might change since I’m several books behind on one mystery series. I will say this year I did pretty much had all my reviews written in the same year even if I missed posting by a few days. I do wonder what the new series for me will be to find and binge on. The ones I did that on were in audio format much like in 2021 when it was the year of Joe Ledger books. I do listen to rereads in audio so I don’t review them again, so my library stats are higher than they appear in my posted reviews. I just wish that several things I would like to listen to were not locked into the Audible only format.
