#20 The Immortal Conquistador by Carrie Vaughn

This is a book you can read either by itself or having read all of the Kitty books. Kitty only gets a passing mention in the stories. Rick was turned after coming to the New World as a Conquistador. Some of this has been in print before and some is new, and it is all threaded together as Rick tells the tale of his life. The reader quickly finds out that Rick isn’t the same as the other vampires he has met. As he is telling his tale in Rome to some other vampires the reader and the other vampires find out just how different he is from the rest of him.
