This is the reboot of the Books of Magic telling how Tim Hunter becomes a wizard. There is only the one scene that connects it to the Dreaming which makes this a great starting point without having to know all the backstory. The arc could have been tightened up a bit but by the end Tim knows there are several groups of magic users interested in him. A fun read if a bit on the light side.
