#30 The Beyond by Chloe Neill

The final book in the series comes to a good conclusion of the storyline. Not everything is roses at the end since New Orleans is still trashed from the war and everything that has happened in the books. But for the most part everyone has a good ending. Nice to read a series that has come to a good end and I’m not left hanging with a ton of questions.

#31 Storm of Locusts by Rebecca Roanhorse

The second book in this series follows a month after the end of the previous book and Maggie is still hurting from what happened. A bounty hunt goes wrong and she is taking care of a girl with clan powers when the Goodacre twins come to her with news she didn’t’ expect to hear. Now she is on a hunt to get the youngest Goodacre back and find Kai. Everything is tied to the bad bounty hunt and the trail leads the team outside the reservation. If things are bad on the reservation after the Big Flood things are even harder past the walls. White Locusts wants to make things better for his followers and he doesn’t care who dies for that to happen. Maggie is drawn into the battle so she can rescue Kai and find some answers for herself. The ending is great and sets up the next book quite nicely. Can’t wait for the next one.

#32 Eye Spy by Mercedes Lackey

The latest follows another one of Mags kids that turns out to have a unique talent for finding stresses in buildings. She joins the Artificer students and has a run in with a rich kid and that kid gets kicked out of the school. The only reason this comes into play later on there are more run ins with the family to get revenge on her for having the boy kicked out under truth spell. There is a small mystery at the end of the book but the overall story feels more geared to a YA audience instead of an adult one.
