#26 The 5th Gender by G.L. Carriger

This is not a Gail Carriger novel this is a G L Carriger novel so the romance is amped up in the story. This is a murder mystery story set on a space station with Tristol living in exile from his people on a space station filled with mostly humans and some aliens. Tristol is cat sitting for some human friends when a ship from his people hail the station. His race is very xenophobic and normally only contact other species through very few channels. Turns out there has been a murder and that is something that never happens on their planet and they don’t know how to proceed. They negotiate for the services of a detective to solve the murder and this puts Tristol and Detective Drey Hastion together and the sparks fly. Turns out each has been harboring a crush on the other and hadn’t acted on it. Lots of sex and some interesting alien culture insights in the book. It was a fun read and I’ll be interested to see more in this setting.
