#11 NYPD Red 3 by James Patterson, Marshall Karp

This book covers a kidnapping of an investment banker’s son. The grandfather is also a friend of the new mayor so NYPD Red is brought in and told to find the kid. But the dad keeps telling everyone that the son isn’t kidnapped only out of town.  Of course this kidnapping isn’t what it appears to be and the fast pace solving of the case goes into overdrive to find out just who has taken Tripp and murdered his father’s driver. A fast fun light read that is entertaining.

This was also an audo book and I think I'll keep the trend going with the fourth book when it hits my  local library.

#12 Shadow Rising by Yasmine Galenorn

This book has Menolly as the main POV and along with fighting baddies she is trying to plan for her wedding to Nerissa.  There was some fighting but for the most part it is go go go for the three sisters fighting the demons. More attacks on friends and life going forward for minor players in the book.  A decent read for fans of the series but certainly not the place for anyone new to read. Even with backstory dropped into the plot to refresh the reader about the past it is a bit much to expect someone to try the series this late into it.
