#79 Soda Pop Soldier: A Novel by Nick Cole

The plot is a bastard child of cyberpunk and console video games. PerfectQuestion is fighting in the virtual world for ad space for a soda company while his personal life is in the dumps. Low on cash, behind on the rent and a girlfriend that walks out of the story never to be heard from again he decides to play a Black game for extra money. Black games are highly illegal with every depraved want catered to. But he gets lucky with the random character he gets and plays a samurai and plays it honorably. Turns out this is not what people want. Seems people are coming out of the woodwork to offer him almost anything if he will throw the war in the advertising battles and if he will stop playing the samurai Wu. A fast paced read but surprisingly light on details of almost anything except the game or what is happening directly with PerfectQuestion.

#80 Flight from Hell by Yasmine Galenorn

I admit I am several books behind on this series but I read this because it was a crossover introduction to a new series the writer is starting based in the same universe. There are some spoilers to the Otherworld series but nothing that I thought would stop me from reading the ones I am missing. The main plot here is to do a rescue of one of the new characters and introduce the sisters and the reader to the new characters of the spin off. Everything works out in the end and groundwork is laid down for the new series but no new ground is really worked on for the sisters. A fun quick read with more of a novella or novelette length.
