#11 Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich

The last few in the series have been a bit ok but nothing exciting. This one felt like one of the older books and I enjoyed it more than the last two. The usual Stephanie is trying to bag someone she has a hard time tracking. This time it is someone with connections to Morelli and that makes it a bit harder with his grandmother giving her the eye all the time over it. The wacky part of the story is a runaway giraffe that no one is calling animal control about. All in all a fun read and glad I picked it up. Here is hoping that the series keeps it up even as Stephanie slowly moves to making a decision about her love life.

#12 Brazen by Kelley Armstrong

I really enjoyed this one. The series never really focused on Nick that much and this story Nick is allowed to shine. He is tracking Malcolm for Clay and Elena and catches up with him in Detroit. There is more to it than that but since this is a novella I don't want to give much away but I hope that even if the main series of Otherworld is done I hope she keeps up with the novellas and gives time to the secondary characters in this universe.

#13 Alabaster: Pale Horse by Caitlin R Kiernan, Daniel Chabon

I assumed this was going to be a graphic novel of her stories but this is more of short story collection with some illustrations. Dancy Flammarion is a young albino girl hitchhiking in the South following an angel's instructions to kill monsters. The stories are interconnected  but clues within the stories make you wonder is this real or a fantasy. Dark and full of symbolism the writing is lush and expects the reader to keep up with it and doesn't dumb down anything. Not my usual read but I think I will be looking for more in this series of stories.

#14 Diesel Sweeties Volume 2: Bacon Is a Vegetable, Coffee Is a Vitamin by R Stevens

This is a collection of strips from Diesel Sweets, 8 bit art in four panels for the most part.  The theme of the collection is bacon and coffee. This would make a great gift for the people in your life that worship those items. The downside is really that is all the collection is about, bacon and coffee. So you are missing background about the characters. It was cute but after a while the book felt a bit one note. Not sure if I would grab another one off the shelf or not.
