#109 Trade Secret by Sharon Lee , Steve Miller

This is a direct sequel to Balance of Trade but the story still works even if you haven't read the previous book. Jethri sets out with a Liaden Scout to retrieve his logbook and old tech that were taken from him by the Scouts to study but promised to be returned. Instead the items in question have gone missing from the Scout HQ but people are willing to trade Jethri to get the items back. While on this journey, he also meets several people that knew his father since he is the spitting image of him.  While traveling he is learning to be a pilot and expanding his trader social circle and find out more about his father's side of the family. A good solid story and once again I am left wanting more and also want to reread Balance of Trade.

#110 A Study in Darkness by Emma Jane Holloway

A bomb at her uncle's home sends Evelina into the Gold King's home and an indiscretion there puts her firmly in his power. As she hides in Whitechapel trying to find who is helping the Blue King she also tries to avoid Jack the Ripper and learn magic from a mysteriously resurrected Mangus. Evelina suffers from being over confident in herself and never seeming to be able to ask for advice from her famous uncle or when he is in a position to help her she doesn't take the lifeline she should use. The book does suffer from being a middle book in a series so no real conclusions to the final arc but some things are settled in the story.
