I had high hopes for this one mostly because of the early buzz and the wonderful cover art and interior art by Todd Lockwood. What I got was book one of a several volume series. This isn't a bad thing except it is told as someone writing their memoir and there are asides to the reader throughout the retelling of her early years. Teh book covers the childhood and marriage of Lady Trent before she becomes famous for dragons. Most of the story covers her first trip to see dragons in the wild and find out more about them.  So this is just laying the groundwork of the series and yes the group finds out some interesting things they don't share the major discovery with the rest of the world due to fear of what would happen to dragons if they did. I liked the book but was hoping for a lot more dragons than what I got.
