I picked this one up because I was taking a chance on a review by Paul Goat Allen. I had picked it up and put it down in the store mostly because yes it was yet another urban fantasy novel and I read way too many of those some days. The setting is Savannah and I do like more books set in the South mostly because I know the cities and can see almost exactly where the locations are. This is the usual battle the bad vampire and use the help of the good vampires. The heroine has no superpowers but has extra tasty blood that local magic users have been trying to hide from the vampires and she is battling for her brother who is slowly being turned by the bad vampires. A fun read but nothing that makes it stand out as an awesome read.

The second novella put out from Sub Press is not a fun of a read as the previous one, Angelic   This has Eve and Paige going to a fight club to investigate a death. The flap really pushes the fight part of the story line but the second half of the story drops it completely and focus on Paige alone. This is the second story that I have read with Paige as the main focus and I seem to be liking her less and less as I keep reading about her. I don't know why since I really liked Dime Store Magic. I'll still be reading the books for a while mostly because they do keep shifting who the main character is and that makes the universe fresh.
