#2 Stray by Rachel Vincent
Jan. 14th, 2009 06:35 pmI read this and there were just several things about it that bugged the heck out of me. Little things that just irked me to no end. There are 2 types of weres the natural born where there is a 5 to 1 male to female ratio and the made ones that seem to always be male. No one knows of a female that was scratched that survived the change. But of course there is no cross breeding with humans at all. They can't go to doctors because lab tests would show they are different. The plot revolves around the fact that someone is kidnapping unmarried females so Faythe is dragged back to the family ranch even though she left to show her independence. A plot device has Faythe confronting a hunter while in her werecat form, this would make sense except it is summer and that is not deer season and if he was a poacher he wouldn't have been wearing an orange vest. The kidnapping plot is foiled by the end of the book but I really have no desire to read any more of the books. Also the book is in first person and if you don't love the narrator it can get annoying and you want to shake them to get them to stop whining.
