#70 Pretties by Scott Westerfeld

This is the second book in a futuristic YA series.  The actions starts up about a month after the first book. Tally has gone back and had the petties operation. She is beautiful but her memory of her days at Smoke are hazy at best.  Tally finally gets the message her new pretty self didn't realize she was waiting for,  the cure to the brain dampening operation of the pretty operation. The only problem is her new friend Zane is with her and the Specials are hot on their heels. They split the cure and then try to come up with ways of letting New Smoke know they got the cure.  Lots of plans don't go quite right and in the end Tally is back in the city with still another operation on her. I won't say what happens if you are interested in reading these.  I've requested the next two from the library but there was quite a list for them so I doubt I will be reading them until 2008.
