#26 Strange Candy by Laurell K Hamilton [audio version]

I picked this up for my recent drive to Virginia. I really enjoyed it and have to say if you read her Nightseer book and loved it you will be happy to hear several stories based in that world. None of the characters from the book show up but it is still fun. I had to say that listening to it I enjoyed her non Anita stories much more than the 2 Anita stories in the collection.  The lake monster story was fun and well thought out.  You could almost see it happening in either Anita or Merry's world but as far as the story goes it is a stand alone. The non Anita story that is set in that universe is a cool look at everyday life for the mundane in that world. So I have to recommend the collection if you like good fantasy stories. Both the Anita stories are ok but nothing that great to sell the book on and that is what the marketing dept tried to do hard with it and I think it was a real disservice to the other stories in the collection. This is one I will have to get a hardcover for my collection.
