HarperCollins sent me a proof and I think I might actually be on someones mailing list now. Finally! I have to say that this collection is really strong. No clunker stories in this collection at all. I'm not even much of a short story reader now but this really did encourage me to think about it more.
A few stories made me want to see more about these universes especially the Gwyneth Jones story. I'm not familiar with her enough to know if it was set in one of her previous series or not but I hope she will explore it more. The Kage Baker story is set on Mars in the sequence that she has been writing for a while now. I love Kage's stuff and this is no different from the rest of them. I have to say this is just a good solid collection. My only real gripe with it is to me they didn't even mention some Space Opera writers that I like and think that not even mentioning them in the introduction was curious.
