#6 Feast of Souls by C S Friedman

I have to admit I love her stuff. I've been a fan since In Conquest Born came out. I was also excited that this isn't a stand alone book but the first in a trilogy. Her previous trilogy is excellent. The main lead is a woman who becomes a Magister. She is the first woman to ever be able to do this and it is thought to be impossible. Magisters live nearly forever by the simple fact that they drain the life force from mere mortals to live and produce magic. The mortals of this world don't know this but they have called the effects of it the Wasting. The plot of Kamala being a Magister is in the background of the slowing unfolding 3 book story of an long thought dead monsters coming back to destroy everyone.

I can't wait for the next one.
