#1 Blood and Iron by Elizabeth Bear

I has started this in December and then misplaced the book half way through the story. I was into the story so much that I thought about buying a second copy just so I could finish the book. Yes, the cover says part one but it stands on its own quite nicely. The book is a war between fairy and mortal mages tired of the fairy folk stealing people away. Toss in some Arthurian legends for good measure and you get a really nice story. As usual I don't even cover part of the story when I do these write ups but this book has me chomping at the bit for the next one.

The plus was one of the short stories I read last year is about a minor player in this book. That was fun when I read it.
