#43 Dead Man Rising by Lilith Saintcrow
Aug. 28th, 2006 12:43 pmThis is the sequel to Working for the Devil I read a few months ago. Dante is still dealing with her grief from the previous book. Dante is running bounty after bounty to block her grief but of course this doesn't seem to work at all. After finishing a run, she gets a call to help with a murder with direct links to her hated childhood upbringing at Rigger Hall. The background of what happened there and the events that shaped Dante make for good storytelling. Along with checking out the mystery, the reader is given more insight to various types of psionics in this universe. In the end she solves the murder and deals with her grief. Anymore than that would be ruining the story. :-D
