#23 Curse the Dark by Laura Anne Gilman
May. 10th, 2006 02:37 pmWell I am so behind posting reviews due in part to a week's vacation where I had no internet access at all. And I lived to tell about it. ;-) I'll call it a test run for my next vacation where I will go almost 2 weeks without internet. I read quite a bit on vacation so I will be kind and space out my reviews instead of choking lots of friends pages with my blather.
Curse the Dark is the second of the Retrievers novels printed by Luna Books. I have a love/hate relationship with Luna. I have either liked or actively disliked the books and nothing in between. Needless to say this is one of the books I liked. This book picks up events a few months after the first book, Staying Dead. The team has to go to Italy to "retrieve" a parchment that has magical properties. They do track it down and it collides with a subplot about friction in the magical community. A nice enjoyable book and I'll be happy to read the next book in the series when it comes out this summer.
