Even though this is the 6th book in the series for the most part the major story arc is done and a new reader could step in the series here even though the previous books would get spoiled. Most of the action takes place outside of Seattle and it puts Harper in a new situation with the Grey and solves an old murder that she stumbles across while working on another case. It was a bit of a slow read for me but it was also nice that she wasn't dealing with the vampires.
